Cycling Days in Altmühltal

Nature Park Altmühltal, with its well signposted cycling paths through beautiful landscape is a paradise for every cyclist. The most famous tour is the Altmühltal route, one of Germany’s favourite cycling routes. This is the 4 day program of your short break;

Day 1; Arrival, small tour through the town of Beilngries, time to enjoy the indoor swimming

           pool and sauna or relax with a drink in the beer garden. Evening meal with a three

           course sportsman’s menu.

Day 2; After breakfast from our extensive breakfast buffet you will start your cycling tour to

            the baroque town of Eichstätt (42 km). An early evening ‘bike bus’ will pick you

            up again and take you back to Beilngries. Here awaits a well deserved dinner either in

            the restaurant or if the weather permits, in the beer garden.

Day 3; After breakfast the cycling tour will take you down stream along the Althmühl cycling 

            route towards Riedenburg (25 km). Here you have the chance to visit the falconry on

            the Rosenburg or the famous crystal museum. On the way back you will pass through

            Dietfurt and the Ottmaringer valley. (Total tour is 53 km). The alternative is to cycle

            further down stream towards Kelheim (42 km) and travel back by tour boat. Time

            schedules are available at the reception.

Day 4; On your departure day there is enough time left over to cycle the 10 km stretch to the

            1000 year old town of Berching. On your way there it is worth to stop and visit the

            Benedict monastery Plankstetten. You can either cycle back or take the tour boat back.
